Tip: If you are planning on purchasing a vehicle from a used car dealership and you are referred to an insurance agency from the sales rep, be certain to have a look at the auto insurance proposal. If you see a referral fee (could be listed as a service fee) that is included in the first month premium and/or as a separate payment to be made, do yourself a big favor and find an insurance agent on your own. There is absolutely no reason for you to pay a "referral fee", or "service fee". This practice isn't illegal, but it is not in the best interest of the customer.
